Polypropylene has a linear expansion coefficient of approximately 1.5 x 10^-4 / C. We provide technical calculations for “Expansion Gaps” and recommend specialized floating-fastener systems for large installations to prevent buckling or stress-cracking during seasonal temperature shifts.

While PP is highly resistant to most acids and alkalis, it can be sensitive to strong oxidizing agents like Nitric Acid (concentrated). We offer a cross-linked polyethylene (PE) hybrid board for environments requiring extreme oxidative stability. Contact us for a full chemical compatibility chart.
